Traffic is only part of the story. For every store, we track orders, revenue, average order value and return on ad spend, so you can see what is actually making money.

What our eCommerce growth service actually does

Running an online store is hard. Ad costs keep rising, marketplaces and big retailers compete for the same buyers, and every platform claims credit for the same sale. It is easy to spend more every month and still not know what is working.

We have been on your side of the table. Our director founded and scaled a globally recognised eCommerce brand and has sourced product directly, including through the Canton Fair. So we think about margins, stock, cash flow and repeat customers, not just clicks.

Our job is to grow your store profitably. We bring in more of the right traffic through SEO, Google Shopping and Meta ads, then turn more of it into sales with conversion work on your product and category pages. Everything is tracked and reported on revenue and profit.

There are no lock-in contracts. If we are not growing your store, you can walk away.

Why most online stores struggle to grow profitably

Most store owners we meet aren’t short on effort. They are short on clarity. These are the patterns we see most.

Problem 01 of 05

Chasing revenue, losing margin

What usually happens

Ads are scaled on revenue alone, so sales go up but profit doesn't.

How we do it

We measure return on ad spend against real margins, product by product.

Problem 02 of 05

Messy product feeds

What usually happens

Poor titles and missing data mean products show for the wrong searches, or not at all.

How we do it

Clean, keyword-rich feeds that match how buyers actually search.

Problem 03 of 05

Weak category pages

What usually happens

Collection pages have no content and compete with each other in Google.

How we do it

Category pages built to rank and to sell.

Problem 04 of 05

Leaky product pages

What usually happens

Slow pages, thin descriptions and hidden shipping costs send buyers away.

How we do it

Conversion work on product pages, cart and checkout.

Problem 05 of 05

Every platform claims the sale

What usually happens

Google, Meta and email all take credit for the same order, so nobody knows what works.

How we do it

Blended reporting that compares platforms with real store data.

Our approach is built to fix every one of these problems. It starts with how we measure success.

Performance-based eCommerce growth with no lock-in contracts

Every store we work with is on a performance-based, month-to-month agreement. Here is what that means in plain English.

What performance-based means for online stores

We judge our work on revenue and profit, not traffic. For every visitor from search or ads, we track whether they bought, what they spent and whether they came back.

That changes how we work. We focus on the products, categories and customers that make you money, and we are happy to cut spend that brings in sales at a loss.

Why we don’t use lock-in contracts

Our agreements run month to month. If you are not happy, you can leave. No exit fees and no fine print.

Retail moves fast. You should be free to change direction when your business needs to.

A quick note on honesty: some eCommerce wins, like fixing a product feed or a broken checkout, can lift sales within weeks. Others, like ranking category pages or building a loyal customer base, take months. We will always tell you which is which.

What we track for your store

Search, Shopping, Meta, email and direct, compared honestly.

What they bought

Orders, products, average order value and bundles.

Whether they came back

Repeat purchases and customer lifetime value.

What it cost

Return on ad spend, cost per order and margin after ads.

What's included in our eCommerce growth service

Four parts, one goal: more profitable sales. Pick a tab to see exactly what we do.

eCommerce SEO for Shopify and WooCommerce

Organic search brings in sales without paying for every click. For most stores, it is the most profitable channel over time.

Category page optimisation

Collection and category pages usually target the biggest searches. We give them useful content, clear headings and strong internal links so they can rank.

Product page SEO

We improve titles, descriptions, images and structured data so products show up for specific searches and look great in results.

Shopify technical SEO

Shopify has quirks, like duplicate product URLs and tag pages. We fix the ones that matter and leave the rest alone.

Site structure

We organise categories, filters and navigation so both shoppers and Google can find products easily.

Product schema

Price, stock and review data in structured markup can earn richer search listings with stars and prices.

Buying guides and content

Guides and comparisons that answer pre-purchase questions bring in shoppers earlier and build trust.

Moving platforms or changing URLs? We map redirects carefully so you keep the rankings you have earned.

Google Shopping and Performance Max

For most stores, Google Shopping is the biggest paid sales channel. It is also where money is most easily wasted.

Product feed optimisation

Your feed is your ad copy. We improve titles, categories, attributes and images so products match more of the right searches.

Merchant Center health

We fix disapprovals, warnings and policy issues so your products actually show.

Performance Max setup

We structure Performance Max by product type, margin and performance, with the right signals and creative.

Margin-aware bidding

Not every product deserves the same bid. We group products by margin and performance so budget goes where it earns the most.

Standard Shopping where it helps

Sometimes classic Shopping campaigns give better control. We use them where they beat Performance Max.

Brand, product and category searches often deserve their own Search campaigns alongside Shopping.

Free listings

We make sure your products also appear in Google’s free Shopping listings, adding sales at no ad cost.

Meta ads for eCommerce

Google captures people searching for products. Meta creates demand by putting your products in front of people who weren’t looking yet.

Creative that sells

Product demos, customer videos, unboxings and clear offers. We plan and test new creative every month.

Catalogue and dynamic ads

Ads that show people the exact products they viewed, or similar ones they are likely to want.

Advantage+ sales campaigns

Meta’s AI-driven campaigns can work very well for stores with strong creative and clean tracking.

Conversions API

Accurate purchase tracking from your server, so Meta learns from real buyers, not guesses.

New versus returning customers

We separate the two, so you know how much you are paying to win genuinely new customers.

Seasonal campaigns

Black Friday, Christmas, end of financial year and your own peaks, planned early so campaigns are ready when demand spikes.

Conversion rate optimisation for stores

Getting more of your existing visitors to buy is often the fastest way to grow. Every improvement makes every channel more profitable.

Product page improvements

Better photos, clearer descriptions, visible delivery and returns information, reviews and a clear add-to-cart button.

Collection page layout

Filters, sorting and product cards that help shoppers find the right product quickly.

Cart and checkout

We remove friction, surprise costs and unnecessary steps that cause people to abandon their cart.

Speed on mobile

Most shoppers are on phones. We fix heavy apps, oversized images and slow themes.

Trust signals

Reviews, guarantees, secure payment badges and clear policies, placed where hesitant shoppers need them.

Average order value

Bundles, free-shipping thresholds and smart cross-sells that lift order value without annoying buyers.

Testing

We test changes on real traffic and keep the ones that lift sales.

eCommerce reporting in AgencyAnalytics

We bring your store data, Google Analytics 4, Google Ads, Meta and Search Console together in AgencyAnalytics. You can log in any time and see revenue, orders and return on ad spend in one place.

How we connect marketing to profit

Search, Shopping or social→Product page→Checkout and store data→Profit, not just revenue

We match marketing data with your actual orders, so we can see revenue, average order value and return on ad spend by channel, campaign and product. Where you share your margins, we report profit after ad spend, not just sales.

We also compare what each platform claims with what your store actually recorded, so you get an honest view of what is working.

A plain-English summary every month

Every month you get a short summary: what sold, what didn’t, what we changed and what comes next. If something isn’t working, we say so straight.

What your report shows

  • Revenue and orders by channel
  • Return on ad spend and cost per order
  • Top products and categories
  • Average order value
  • New versus returning customers
  • Conversion rate by device
  • Changes made this month and what’s next

Shopify or WooCommerce?

We work with both. Each has strengths, and the right choice depends on your business.

Shopify

Shopify is simple to run, secure and reliable, with a huge app ecosystem. It suits most stores that want to focus on selling rather than managing technology.

Its SEO quirks, like duplicate product URLs and limited URL control, are manageable when you know where to look.

WooCommerce

WooCommerce runs on WordPress, giving you more control over content, design and SEO. It suits stores with lots of content, complex products or special requirements.

It needs more care with hosting, updates, speed and security, which we can help with.

Thinking of switching? A migration can protect or destroy years of rankings. We map every URL, set up redirects, move reviews and structured data, and monitor traffic closely after launch.

Who our eCommerce growth service is for

We work best with stores that have good products, real demand and the ambition to grow profitably. These are the stores we most often help.

Established Shopify stores

Stores already selling that have hit a ceiling. We find the leaks, fix the tracking and build a plan to grow without burning margin.

Cultural and niche brands

Brands with a clear identity and a loyal audience. Our director founded a globally recognised cultural eCommerce brand, so we understand how to grow a niche into a following.

Product importers

Businesses sourcing products overseas, where landed cost, stock and margin shape every marketing decision.

Trade and industrial suppliers

B2B stores selling parts, equipment and supplies, where technical product data and search matter most.

Home, lifestyle and fashion

Visual products where creative, reviews and seasonal timing drive results.

eCommerce growth explained: a plain-English guide

Growing an online store involves a lot of moving parts. This guide explains the key ideas simply, so you can make better decisions.

The three ways to grow an online store

There are only three ways to grow revenue: get more visitors, turn more of them into buyers, and get each buyer to spend more over time. Most stores focus only on the first, usually by spending more on ads.

The stores that grow profitably work on all three. A small lift in conversion rate or average order value makes every marketing dollar work harder.

Revenue, margin and profit

Revenue is what customers pay. Margin is what is left after the cost of the product. Profit is what is left after everything else, including shipping, fees and marketing.

A campaign can look great on revenue and still lose money once you account for margin and ad costs. That is why we look at return on ad spend alongside your margins, not on its own.

What is a good return on ad spend?

Return on ad spend, or ROAS, is revenue from ads divided by what you spent on them. A ROAS of 4 means $4 in revenue for every $1 in ads.

There is no universal good number. A store with high margins can be profitable at a lower ROAS than a store with thin margins. We work out your break-even ROAS from your real numbers, then set targets above it.

Here is a simple example only: if your average margin is 50 percent, you break even on ad spend at a ROAS of 2, before other costs. Anything above that contributes to profit.

Why category pages matter for SEO

Most shoppers start broad, with searches like mens running shoes or ceramic planters, not a specific product name. Those searches usually land on category pages, not product pages.

Many stores leave category pages as a bare grid of products. Adding helpful content, clear headings, internal links and a sensible structure can turn them into your biggest source of organic sales.

How Google Shopping works

Google Shopping ads show your product image, title, price and store name directly in search results. They are driven by your product feed, not by keywords you choose.

That means the quality of your feed decides which searches your products show for. A product titled with the exact words buyers use will usually outperform one with a vague or clever name.

Performance Max for online stores

Performance Max uses Google’s AI to show your products across Search, Shopping, YouTube, Display and more. For many stores it now drives most of their Google Ads sales.

It works best with a clean feed, accurate conversion tracking, good images and video, and clear product groupings. Left alone, it can spend heavily on your brand name and best-sellers while ignoring products with potential. We manage it closely so it grows the whole store.

Why product feeds matter so much

Your product feed is a data file listing every product, with its title, description, price, images, category and more. Google and Meta use it to decide when and where to show your products.

Small feed improvements, like better titles, correct categories and complete attributes, can lift results without changing your ads or your budget at all.

The biggest conversion leaks we find

  • Slow product pages on mobile.
  • Shipping costs that only appear at checkout.
  • Thin product descriptions that don’t answer basic questions.
  • Few or no reviews on product pages.
  • Too many apps slowing the store down.
  • Forced account creation before checkout.

Average order value

Average order value is how much customers spend per order. Lifting it is one of the easiest ways to improve profit, because you have already paid to win that customer.

Bundles, sensible cross-sells, free-shipping thresholds and quantity discounts can all lift average order value, as long as they genuinely help the buyer rather than annoy them.

New customers versus returning customers

Winning a new customer usually costs far more than selling to an existing one. But without new customers, a store eventually stalls.

We track both separately, so you can see how much you pay to win new customers and how much repeat business they bring. That tells you what a new customer is really worth, and how much you can afford to spend to win one.

Why platforms disagree about sales

Google, Meta and email tools each use their own rules to decide who gets credit for a sale. When a customer sees a Meta ad, searches on Google and then clicks an email, all three may claim the same order.

We compare platform numbers with your actual store data and look at overall trends, such as total revenue and new customers. That gives a much more honest picture than any single platform report.

Planning for peak seasons

Black Friday, Christmas and end of financial year can make or break a store’s year. Ad costs rise, competition is fierce and shoppers expect strong offers.

We plan early: content and SEO updates weeks ahead, campaigns warmed up before costs spike, creative ready to go, and stock and delivery cut-offs checked. The stores that plan early usually win.

Reviews and social proof

Reviews help shoppers decide, improve conversion rates on every channel, and can show as star ratings in Google results.

We help you collect more genuine reviews after purchase, display them clearly on product pages and use them in ads. We never fake or filter reviews.

Should you sell on marketplaces too?

Marketplaces like Amazon, eBay and Etsy can add sales and reach new buyers, but they also take fees, control the customer relationship and can compete with your own store.

For many brands, a mix works: marketplaces for reach, and your own store for margin, brand and repeat customers. We focus on growing your own store, and offer eBay, Amazon and Etsy setup as optional add-ons when a marketplace makes sense for your products.

Signs your store needs an audit

  • You don’t know your break-even return on ad spend.
  • Sales are growing but profit isn’t.
  • Your Google Merchant Center shows warnings or disapprovals.
  • Category pages have no content.
  • Mobile conversion rate is much lower than desktop.
  • Google, Meta and your store all report different sales.

If two or more of these sound familiar, there is money to be found. Our free audit will show you where.

Can you grow a store yourself?

Plenty of store owners do a great job on their own, especially early on. The challenge comes as you grow: more channels, more data, more tracking problems and less time.

A specialist helps when the cost of small mistakes, like wasted ad spend or a broken feed, becomes bigger than the cost of expert help.

How we start with a new store

Every store is different, but we start the same careful way every time.

  • We agree your goals, margins and break-even return on ad spend.
  • We check purchase tracking in your store, GA4, Google Ads and Meta, and fix anything that is off.
  • We audit your product feed and Merchant Center for errors and missed opportunities.
  • We review category pages, product pages, speed and checkout for conversion leaks.
  • We review your ad accounts for wasted spend and missing structure.
  • We give you a clear, prioritised plan, starting with the fixes that pay back fastest.

Shopify apps and speed

Apps are one of the best things about Shopify, and one of the most common causes of slow stores. Each app can add scripts that load on every page, even if you rarely use it.

We review your apps, remove what you don’t need, and check that the ones you keep are not slowing down the pages that matter most. A faster store converts better on every channel, including paid ads, where you pay for every visitor who leaves before the page loads.

Product descriptions that sell

Many stores copy the manufacturer’s description or write a single vague line. Neither helps shoppers decide, and neither helps you rank.

Good product copy answers the questions people ask before buying: what it is, who it is for, how it fits or works, what it is made of, how it arrives and what happens if it isn’t right. Clear, specific copy helps shoppers, Google and AI tools alike.

Subscriptions and repeat purchases

If customers buy your products again and again, like coffee, supplements or pet food, subscriptions can smooth your cash flow and raise customer lifetime value.

Even without subscriptions, a simple plan to bring customers back, such as timely reminder emails, reorder offers and loyalty perks, can make every new customer more valuable. That, in turn, lets you spend more to win them in the first place.

Pricing and promotions

Discounts can drive sales, but constant sales train customers to wait for the next one and eat into your margin. We help you plan promotions with purpose: clearing old stock, launching new products, or winning customers during peak seasons.

Often, value-adds like free shipping thresholds, gifts with purchase or bundles protect margin better than a straight percentage off. We test what works for your customers.

Bundles that actually work

Good bundles solve a real problem for the buyer, like a complete starter kit, a matching set or a better-value multi-pack. Bad bundles just pile random products together.

We look at what customers already buy together, then build bundles and cross-sells around those patterns. That lifts average order value in a way that feels helpful, not pushy.

Landed cost and why it matters

Landed cost is the full cost of getting a product into your warehouse, including the product itself, freight, duties, insurance and handling. Many stores price and advertise based only on the supplier price, then wonder why profit is thin.

Knowing your true landed cost per product lets you set realistic ad targets and decide which products deserve the most promotion. Having sourced products directly ourselves, it is one of the first things we ask about.

B2B and wholesale stores

Stores selling to other businesses have different needs: trade pricing, bulk orders, account logins and technical product information. Buyers often search using part numbers and specifications.

We make sure your product data is detailed and searchable, set up campaigns for high-intent technical searches, and track orders and quote requests properly, so you can see which marketing brings in trade customers.

What a healthy store looks like

  • Purchases are tracked accurately and match across platforms, give or take.
  • Your product feed has few or no errors in Merchant Center.
  • Category pages rank for the broad searches in your niche.
  • Return on ad spend sits comfortably above break-even.
  • A healthy share of revenue comes from returning customers.
  • Mobile conversion rate is close to desktop.

What to ask in your monthly report

A good report answers simple questions. How much revenue came from each channel? What did it cost? Which products and categories grew, and which fell? How many new customers did we win, and how many came back? What are you changing next? If your report can’t answer those, ask for it. Ours always does.

Getting Google Analytics 4 right for a store

Google Analytics 4 can show you exactly how shoppers find and move through your store, from first visit to purchase. But only if eCommerce tracking is set up properly, and many stores have gaps or double-counted sales.

We check that product views, add to carts, checkouts and purchases are all recorded correctly, with the right values and product details. Once the data is right, you can see which products get viewed but not bought, where shoppers drop out, and which channels bring your best customers.

Why mobile matters so much

For most Australian stores, the majority of visitors arrive on a phone. Yet many stores are designed and checked on a desktop screen.

We review every key page on real phones: how fast it loads, how easy it is to tap, whether delivery and returns information is visible, and how smooth the checkout feels. Small mobile fixes often bring the biggest lifts in sales.

Returns and what they do to profit

A sale that comes back as a return can cost you more than no sale at all, once you count shipping both ways and handling. High return rates can quietly wipe out the profit from a campaign that looks great on paper.

We look at return rates by product where you can share them, then improve product pages with clearer sizing, photos and descriptions so buyers get it right the first time. We also factor returns into how we judge ad performance.

Email and SMS: the channels you already own

Every new customer you win through ads or search can be marketed to again through email and SMS, at a fraction of the cost. Stores that do this well get far more value from every customer they win.

Our focus is search and ads, but we make sure your site captures subscribers properly, and that your ads, landing pages and email flows work together. Where you need hands-on email help, we can recommend specialists.

Photos and video that sell products

Shoppers can’t touch your products, so images and video do the job instead. Clear photos from several angles, close-ups of details, lifestyle shots that show scale and use, and short videos all help people buy with confidence.

Better visuals also improve your Shopping ads and Meta ads, because the same images appear there. We review your product imagery and brief improvements where they will make the biggest difference.

eCommerce terms you’ll hear

Built by people who have run a store

Most agencies have never had to pay for stock, chase a late shipment or explain a bad month to a business partner. We have. Our director founded and scaled a globally recognised eCommerce brand and has sourced products directly from manufacturers, including through the Canton Fair.

That experience shapes how we work. We think about landed cost, stock levels, cash flow, returns and repeat customers, not just traffic and clicks. We know that a sale with no margin is not a win, and that a stockout can wreck the best campaign.

When you talk to us about growth, you are talking to people who understand the whole business, not just the marketing.

Common eCommerce mistakes we fix

We audit a lot of online stores. These are the problems we see most often. Flip a card to see how we fix it, and tick any that sound like you.

Scaling on revenue alone

Sales go up, profit doesn’t. Always check return on ad spend against margin.

Ignoring the product feed

Vague titles and missing data mean products never show for the right searches.

Empty category pages

Your biggest SEO opportunity, left as a bare grid of products.

Too many apps

Every app adds weight and slows the store, costing sales on every channel.

Hidden shipping costs

Surprise costs at checkout are one of the top reasons people abandon carts.

Trusting one platform’s numbers

Every platform over-claims. Compare them with your real store data.

Launching peak campaigns late

Campaigns started in peak week never have time to learn.

How to choose an eCommerce marketing agency

These questions will help you find an eCommerce partner who will grow your profit, not just your spend.

  • Do you measure profit or just revenue? Look for an agency that asks about your margins.
  • Have you run a store yourself? Operators think differently about stock, cash and margin.
  • How do you handle product feeds? Feeds drive Shopping and Meta. They should be a priority.
  • How do you report across platforms? Ask how they deal with Google and Meta both claiming the same sale.
  • Do I have to sign a long contract? Month to month is fair. Long lock-ins protect the agency.
  • Who owns the accounts and data? You should own your ad accounts, analytics and store data.
  • What will I see in reports? Ask for a sample. You should understand it without a translator.

We are happy to answer every one of these on a call. That is part of our free audit.

On revenue, orders, return on ad spend and, where you share them, margins and profit. Not on traffic alone.

Each platform uses its own rules to claim credit. We compare them with your real store data to give you an honest view.

Yes. We plan peak campaigns early, prepare creative and content, and manage budgets closely through busy periods.

Our focus is search, ads and conversion. We make sure your ads and site work well with your email flows, and can recommend specialists if you need one.

Yes. We plan migrations carefully, with redirects, reviews and structured data moved across, so you keep your rankings.

We plan and brief creative, produce static ads in-house, and work with photographers, creators or your team for video and product photos.

Yes, as optional add-ons. We set up your Amazon.com.au Seller Central account, eBay Australia listings or Etsy shop, run from the same product catalogue as your store so stock and prices stay in step. Each setup is quoted up front, and we'll tell you straight if a marketplace isn't a fit for your products or margins.

You do. We work inside your accounts, and everything stays with you if you ever leave.

Access to your store, Google Analytics, Google Ads, Merchant Center and Meta accounts, plus a conversation about your products, margins and goals.

It varies a lot by industry, price point and traffic source. Rather than chase a generic benchmark, we compare your store with its own history and look for the biggest leaks to fix first.

Often, a free shipping threshold works better than free shipping on everything, because it lifts order value while protecting margin. We look at your products and margins before recommending an approach.

Not always all of them. We focus budget on products with healthy margins and proven demand, and test others carefully. Products that lose money after ad costs are paused or re-priced.

We work with stores that have genuine products, reliable delivery and good customer service. Where those are in place, the business model matters less than the margins and the customer experience.

Yes. We write clear, specific copy that helps shoppers decide and helps your pages rank, or we can create templates and guidelines for your team.

We keep an eye on stock levels in your feed and adjust campaigns so you are not paying to advertise products you can’t sell. If you share your restock dates, we plan around them.

Yes. We check and fix your GA4 eCommerce tracking so product views, carts, checkouts and purchases are all recorded properly.

Where you can share return data, we factor it into product and campaign performance, so you see results after returns, not just gross sales.

Yes. We can help plan the structure, set up tracking and feeds properly from day one, and build launch campaigns. Starting right is much easier than fixing things later.
