Why small business marketing is different

Small businesses do not have money to burn. Every dollar needs to work hard, and you need to see what it is doing.

01

Budgets are tight

You cannot afford to test everything. Start with the channels most likely to bring customers for your kind of business.

02

You are busy running the business

Marketing needs to run without you managing it every day, with clear, simple reporting.

03

Local visibility matters most

For many small businesses, showing up on Google Maps is the fastest way to win more customers.

04

Every customer counts

A few extra jobs or sales a month can make a real difference, so we track every enquiry.

The channels that work for small businesses

Most small businesses grow fastest from local search, focused paid ads and a website that makes contact easy. Pick a channel to see how we run it.

Show up when locals search

For many small businesses, Google Maps is the biggest source of new customers. We set up your Business Profile properly and keep it working.

01Nail your Google Business Profile

For many small businesses, the Business Profile brings in more calls than the website. Fill in every field, choose the right categories, add real photos, list your services and keep your hours up to date. Post updates now and then, and reply to every review.

02Ask every happy customer for a review

Genuine reviews help you rank on Google Maps and help people choose you. Make it easy by sending a short message with a direct link after a job well done. Never post fake reviews or offer rewards for good ones. Both can mislead customers and break Google’s rules.

03Give each service its own page

One page listing everything you do rarely ranks. Give each main service its own page that explains what you do, where you do it, roughly what it costs if you can share that, and how to get in touch. If you serve several towns or suburbs, a page for each key area helps too.

04Start small with Google Ads, and track everything

Google Ads can bring enquiries quickly, but only if every call and form is tracked. Start with a small budget on your most profitable services, in the areas you serve, and add negative keywords so you do not pay for the wrong searches. Once you know what a customer costs, you can decide whether to spend more.

05Make it easy to contact you

Put your phone number at the top of every page, make it tap to call on mobile, and keep forms short. People often contact several businesses at once, and the fastest reply usually wins the job.

06Check your numbers every month

Once a month, look at how many calls and enquiries you got, where they came from and what they cost. You do not need a complicated dashboard. You just need to know what is working, so you can do more of it.
