eCommerce marketing that grows profit, not just revenue.

Revenue is easy to buy. Profit is harder. We help Australian online stores grow sales from search, Shopping and social, and we measure every dollar against your real margins.

Why eCommerce marketing is different

Online stores live and die on margin. Every sale carries product, shipping and payment costs, so the goal is never just more sales. It is more profitable sales.

01

Margins decide everything

A sale that costs more in ads than it earns in profit is a loss dressed up as growth. Your ad targets have to start from your real margins.

02

Your product feed is your ad

On Google Shopping, your product titles, images and prices are the ad. A messy feed quietly costs you sales every single day.

03

Buyers compare hard

Shoppers check prices, reviews and delivery times across several stores before they buy. Trust and speed win the sale.

04

Seasons swing fast

Peak periods like Black Friday and Christmas can make or break a year. Planning starts months before, not the week before.

The channels that work for online stores

Most stores grow fastest from a mix of Shopping, search and social, all measured against margin. Pick a channel to see how we run it.

Shopping ads managed around margin

Most online sales start on Google. We structure Shopping, Performance Max and Search campaigns around your margins and stock levels, so the budget flows to the products that actually make money.

The playbook

The eCommerce growth playbook

The levers that decide whether an online store grows profitably. Use it to check your own store, whether you work with us or not.

The Anahaw Media team
Planned and run by senior people, not handed to juniors.

01Start with your numbers, not your ads

Before you spend another dollar on ads, know three numbers: your gross margin after product costs, your other costs per order such as shipping and payment fees, and your average order value. Together they tell you your break-even ROAS, the point where ads stop making money.

For example, if you keep 40 cents from every dollar of sales after product and shipping costs, you need at least $2.50 back for every $1 in ads just to break even. Anything below that loses money, no matter how good the revenue looks. Our break-even ROAS calculator works this out for you.

02Fix the feed before you fix the bids

On Google Shopping, your product feed does the job that ad copy does in search. Google reads your titles, descriptions, categories and images to decide which searches to show you for.

  • Put the words buyers search for near the start of product titles, such as brand, product type and key size or model.
  • Use sharp images on a clean background.
  • Keep prices and stock in sync, so products are not disapproved.
  • Fill in fields like GTIN, brand and product type wherever you can.

A clean feed often lowers costs and lifts sales before you change a single bid.

03Win the product page

Most eCommerce traffic lands on product and category pages, not your home page. These pages have to answer every question a buyer has before they leave to compare prices elsewhere.

  • Clear photos from several angles, and video where it helps.
  • Delivery costs and times shown before checkout.
  • Genuine reviews close to the buy button.
  • Fast loading on mobile, where most shoppers browse.

Small improvements here lift the return on every channel at once, because every visitor has a better chance of buying.

04Plan for peak, protect the rest of the year

Peak season can bring in a big share of a year’s revenue, but ad costs rise as more stores chase the same buyers. Plan stock, offers and creative months ahead, build your remarketing audiences before peak starts, and decide in advance how hard you will push spend.

Just as important, keep building organic traffic and repeat customers all year. Stores that rely only on paid ads feel every cost increase. Stores with strong SEO and loyal customers have a buffer.

05Measure the whole picture

Google Ads, Meta and your analytics will often each claim credit for the same sale, so their numbers rarely agree. Instead of chasing one perfect figure, look at total revenue and total marketing spend together, and check the trend is healthy.

We report blended results alongside channel results in AgencyAnalytics, so you see the full picture, not just what each platform wants you to see.

How we would approach it

A clear first 90 days, then steady improvement. No lock-in contract, so we keep earning your business every month.

  1. First 30 days

    Audit and tracking

We check your tracking, feed, ads and store, and fix the numbers first, so every decision after this is based on real data.

  2. Days 31 to 60

    Fix the leaks

We cut wasted ad spend, clean up the product feed and fix the biggest problems on your store.

  3. Days 61 to 90

    Build the engine

We launch new campaigns, SEO work and creative tests around your best margin products.

  4. Month 4 onwards

    Scale what works

We move budget to what is profitable, test new ideas every month and report it all in AgencyAnalytics.

What we measure

We report on the numbers that show whether your store is actually making more money, not just more sales.

Contribution margin

What each order earns after product, shipping, fees and ads.

Return on ad spend

Revenue per dollar of ads, judged against your break-even point.

Conversion rate

The share of visitors who buy.

Average order value

How much each customer spends per order.

Repeat purchase rate

How many customers come back and buy again.

New customer cost

What it costs to win a first-time buyer.

Rules we work within

Consumer law applies to your marketing

The Australian Consumer Law applies to online stores, so your ads and product pages must not be misleading. In practice that means:

  • Prices and discounts must be accurate, including any “was” prices.
  • Reviews must be genuine. Fake reviews, or hiding negative ones, can mislead shoppers.
  • Delivery times and free shipping claims must be true.

This is general information, not legal advice. Your own advisers have the final say on compliance.
